Solitude
Normandy, France
With the sun fading fast, I stood on the edge of the marshlands surrounding the legendary Mont Saint-Michel, debating whether to make my move. Shoes in one hand and tripod in the other, I set off at pace, crossing fifty metres of uneven rocks and cold water until my feet were fully submerged.
Arriving just in time for blue hour, I noticed two distinct layers of cloud drifting above, adding depth and movement to the frame. A thirty-second exposure smoothed the water and captured the stillness of the scene.
It was a rare, quiet moment with one of the world’s most photographed landmarks, seen from a perspective that felt entirely my own.
