Whispers Between the Waves and Sky

Sutherland, Scotland

In landscape photography, some moments demand instant action and this was one of them. I sprinted out of the van from a precarious pull-in on a busy road, hopped fences, and nearly twisted an ankle, all to capture what was unfolding. From the top of the hill, rolling fog swept in from the sea, seamlessly merging with the sky. At first glance, I thought it was all fog but then I noticed the faint silhouette of a tree line cutting through the haze. I framed just part of it, letting the high-contrast trees anchor the centre, while the uninterrupted sweep of mist flowed on, soft and endless.
