This wasn’t just a fly-by though; we found some of the calmest, most scenic roads we’ve ever driven, wandered through quiet local villages, sampled way too many pastries (because “when in Rome”… well, France), and wrapped it all up by exploring a historic city full of character. We thought paddle boarding in Wales would be a breeze… but reality had other plans. Between surprise permits, expensive life jackets, and the not-so-great idea of diving into March waters, this “simple” adventure turned into something else entirely. We’re kicking off the next chapter of The Basten Journey with a full tour of our freshly built Peugeot Boxer L2H3 camper van — and we couldn’t be more excited to finally share her with you. After building our first micro camper back in 2023 and touring parts of the UK, we knew van life was where we felt most alive. Fast forward to 2025 (with a few roadblocks along the way), we’re back - better, stronger, and with a van that’s everything we dreamed of. This time, we focused more on styling and function, while the incredible team at Campervan Explorers brought our vision to life with their craftsmanship. Phoebe is fully off-grid, beautifully designed, and ready to help us live, work, and travel full-time.
