Painted Coast

Cornwall, England

On a scouting trip, I’d imagined a blazing sunset piercing straight through Enys Dodnan Arch, the classic shot. But when I returned, the sun had other plans. Instead of drama, it offered restraint: a hazy horizon that cast soft light across the scene, warming one half while plunging the other into cool shadow.

With rough waves threatening to steal the mood, I reached for the 10-stop filter. The chaos smoothed, the sea calmed, and the scene became something else entirely, less postcard, more painting.

Blurred water turned to brushstrokes. A moment reimagined.
