Uncertain Light
Surrey, England
During the height of bluebell season, I set out for my daily lockdown walk, a short hike to a nearby woodland I’d never fully appreciated until that spring.
Light pierced through the dense canopy in scattered shafts, and this one patch caught my eye. With the sun moving quickly and the moment already fading, I dropped my aperture to isolate the subject, one solitary trunk, theatrically lit, as if placed on stage.
A quiet scene, but one that felt necessary. A breath of calm in an otherwise uncertain time.
